Re: Campy wheels - GT 2+2 and GTC
Ed: The point of my post was these wheel colors change significantly with age. The effects of years of sunlight, brake dust and the base magnesium causes the original color to change tint and appearance. With today's technology, matching the color as it now appears is easy, but actually duplicating ...

Re: Campy wheels - GT 2+2 and GTC
Ed: I doubt they are the same. We matched a five year old spare wheel. I have no idea the age of the wheel Kerry matched.

Re: Campy wheels - GT 2+2 and GTC
Ed: They were the same color. In 1972 we matched the color to 1960 Chrysler Silver (Chrysler only had one silver in 1960).

Re: Brake problem in my GTC
ALL brake fluids (including silicone) today have "seal swellers" in them. Silicone gets a "bad rap", when almost always the actual problem is due to some other issue. Silicone is not as "slippery" as regular fluid and is somewhat "thicker" and that can (rarely) cause a problem with seals not letting...

Re: 330 GTC “whatever it’s called”
As I told Tom in Monterey, it is an air/oil separator. It "swirls" the air out of the oil before the oil passes to the engine. You don't want to lubricate the main and rod bearings with "air".

Re: Fuel Tank
John: DON'T DO IT!!!! Unless you have major seepage that cannot be repaired any other way, do not put a liner in the fuel tank. I have personally experienced way too many failed liners (from various reputable sources). I have seen engines severely damaged internally from liners sucked through the fu...

Re: Removing cam covers
Steve: I really think the best approach to removing the cam covers is to follow the one major rule I have used successfully for almost 50 years of working on Ferrari's. "Never force it, just get a bigger hammer".

Re: Tell me about the old days!
OK, since I am apparently an OLD Ferrari person, I will try to answer Tom’s question. I went back and looked at past issues of the Prancing Horse from 1972, when we first started attending Club events. Amazingly, I remembered almost all the names at the events. From this list, I would say that the r...

Re: 40 DFI carbs
On DFI carburetors, the chokes (venturis) are not removable, they are cast into the carb body. The DFI2 has 28 mm chokes and the DFI5 has 32mm chokes. One is for 330's and one is for 365"s.

Re: 330GT plastic shift lever extension
The early version of the shift lever bushings were translucent (that turned yellow with age) and the more current, stronger versions are dark gray.

Re: Vapor lock solution for carb cars
All of today's fuels will more easily boil than those of 50 years ago. I don't think the line from the tank to the filter is the main culprit in this problem. It remains cool all the time. It is most likely the lines that run along the chassis near the exhaust are the cause as well as the lines with...

Re: SI 330GT 2+2 cooling fan
Tom: Yes, it is the cast three blade fan. My 330 GT had the single pusher electric and it had the cast blade. Just be sure the fan turns the correct direction. I wondered why that car tended to run warm, and got down in front of the grille one day with the fan running to be hit in the face with a bl...
