Guess What?? We are still alive! I just received a sample of the 250 Kick Plate and it is super. Mark did a great job of translating our measurements into AutoCad, finding a cutter and creating the final product. We are happy with the test cuts for the 250 GTE and the 365 2+2, but we need a little h...

Hang on a second Kare, I have Ferrari SN 4247 and Pininfarina # 472 (though it is possible that it is 412, as the 7 looks kind of strange). Could you have switched the two numbers you printed? If 4257 had body # 477, that would jibe with mine. Also, does anybody know if Pininfarina gives out build s...

Thanks Fest, sounds like I found the right guy to answer this question! In Carroll Smith's "Nuts, Bolts Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook", he says that split (spring) and wave washers do nothing because when torque is applied to the bolt, it flattens the lock washer, creating essentially a flat washe...

Zen and the Art of Lockwashers

While fixing my drivers window, I decided to clean and lube the rest of the door parts. In doing so, I encountered three different types of lockwashers; spring, inside tooth and outside tooth (and split and tab lockwashers elsewhere). It occurred to me that I have no idea when one was supposed to us...

I received my copy last night and thought they presented a pretty good overview of the car. Yvo's car looks pretty good as well! However, didn't Horner, Yale and Mr. Tom participate in that article? I seemed to have missed their names...

Believe it or not, we are still alive and kicking. We are just having trouble getting a quote on cutting the metal. We have a new source and hope to have numbers soon. I will let you know when I have something!

Len Miller has retired as the keeper of the register. Bill Preston has taken over and is doing an excellent job with the newsletter. He has also computerized the register and updated a lot of the information. It is well worth subscribing. However, he does not have a website. Actually, Len's website ...

Gotcha. I thought you were riviting on the window channel felt pieces, which would show on the outside of the chrome window surround strip. The photos make everything clear!

Tom - I was looking at the photo of the side of your door in the lastst Diary posting and cannot see the rivits used to attach the window felts. Didn't they come through to the side of the door? That is my concern about using rivits.

Yes,replacing the cable is a challange and I haven't gotten it quite right yet. However, as it was busted before, I can't make it any worse! I will try to post some info on it when I get it right.

Window Channel Felts and door adjustments

Having disassembled the door to get the kick panels off, it seemed like a good time to replace the window cable and generally clean up the inside. My door does not close all the way and I cannot figure out how to adjust it. I believe that on an earlier thread it was said you could loosen the door cl...

Gotcha. I didn't (and still don't) know what BBCode was, so I left it checked as off. I had also tried to use the "img" button, but never thought to use "close tags" at the end. I will try it next time I post a photo!

Tom - I recently figured out how to upload photos into my website and put a link in my messages, but how do you make the photo appear in the message?
