In addition to the interior color, "slipping transmission, crease in front near headlight, torn driver's seat" sounds pretty scary. Cosmopolitan Motors had this for sale in 2002, listing it for $22,500. The current seller is "cosmotor" so sounds like the same people. Despite all of the"wealthy colle...

Wayne

I just noticed that we both have the EXACT same join date! September 3, 2002.

Is that weird or what?

Welcome also, Wayne! Good to see you here. I couldn't imagine that you haven't been lurking here for a while, given your interest and knowledge of the older cars.

Can't help you, but can wish you luck in your search. The search isn't as much fun as the owning, but its close!

Man, is this guy in for a shock! The engine rebuild alone will cost him more than the car would ever be worth with a flood/salvage title. All of the other parts will result in him having the world's most expensive 400i by a factor of 2 or more. Of course he is soliciting "publicity" for the magazine...

My 1983 400i also has a turning circle of 40 feet and I am constantly getting surprised as I maneuver in parking lots by having to back up before getting into a space.

I would guess that the front suspension design doesn't allow as much steering lock as on some other designs.

Hey fest!

I had your s/n as 32365, not 32635. Did I get it wrong? Wouldn't do to have erroneous info in my 400i database!

Thanks,

John

On the 400i, which is a later version of the 365GT4, the paint code is on a label on the top inside of the trunk's rear fascia panel, right next to the trunk lid striker latch. Also, if you register your car on the Ferrari Owner's Site, it will tell you the original factory paint color on your car. ...

Oh Erik!

We try and try and try and try and now this! Where have we gone wrong?

LOL, congratulations on a stablemate for your V12. Nothing like having a couple of different styles of Ferrari caviar in your garage!

Hmmmm, ad says "completely restored", but that was 20 years ago by the owner himself and car not driven in FIVE years. We all know that it is possible for an owner to do a superb restoration, right Tom? ;-) But Tom Yang restorations have got to be the exception rather than the rule. Owner wants to c...

Certainly Francois would be an excellent, if not superior, choice as well. Not to mention at a lower hourly rate, I'm sure.

The 323 exchange is next door in Stamford. If I can get some time this weekend between kids' softball games, toy sailboat regattas etc. I'll try and take a look to report back.

The dealer nearby is Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, CT and they could do a PPI.

Tillman From your description of the car's condition, mileage and 20+ year storage status, you are looking at significant dollars to get the car road worthy and into respectable driver status, not to mention additional costs if you were to bring it up to show status. For starters, engine rebuild ($2...
