Re: Exhaust popping 330GT

Taking into account that yours have been serviced three years ago and that you run no points because of the Petronix I would start with checking timing and the things mentioned in the thread above. If in doubt about the distributors it is easy to just take off the distributors and check them on the ...

Re: Exhaust popping 330GT

Like Jumprun said, one reason (if ignition and mixture are right) could very well be unburnt fuel being ignited in the exhaust. When you go off the accelerator unburnt fuel in form of a wall film is sucked off the walls through negative pressure and may ignite if mixed with oxygen coming from an exh...

Re: Gas Filler Overflow Pipe

Thanks John.

I understand from this that on the Lusso the males are the same and would make the same assumption.

On the Gte the males for the overflow are much larger then the ones for the vent, minimum by factor two. Therefor I am not sure if yhey used the same material.

Thanks

Re: Gas Filler Overflow Pipe

Thanks John,

is your overflow pipe the same material and color? And does it ha a smooth surface. If yes I would need to change mine.

Tom,

If I remeber right I saw green translucent hoses in a DIY market in the departement for aquariums. Might be a source to look at.

All the best

Re: Gas Filler Overflow Pipe

Here is a photo of the green vent hose in my GTE. It has Pirelli in white letters printed on it and seems to be original. I can not add to the drain hose beside the photos I posted in above contributions as this was missing on my car.

Hope this helps

Re: Gas Filler Overflow Pipe

Hi Tom, John, I know that the vent pipe running beside the filler in the boot is translucent green with Pirelli on it. I am not sure about the overflow pipe Tom is looking for. As it was missing on mine I asked Martin from Austria about a picture of his - see attachment. I used a translucent pipe. C...

Re: Riganti 250 Jack

Thanks to Tom Wilson for providing me with a picture of the jack that came with his 1963 Gte we now have the answer. It is the earlier type - see picture from Tom.

Thanks to all who contributed.

Riganti 250 Jack

Hi All, Chris Coisis and John Vardanian kindly made me aware that there are two different types of MR Riganti jacks for the 250 series. Which would be the right one for a 1963 Gte? They differ in that one has the part that goes into the sill higher than the other. Enclosed a photo of both types of j...

Re: Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots

Thanks Dyke, Mechaniker,

the ones on my old loom for Water and Oil temp sender were bigger one’s covering also the top of the sender units - see bottom of pic. Are these correct or do I need to change them?

Thanks

Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots

Parker Hall writes in his booklet that his 250 Cabriolet used 12-13 wire terminal boots - see picture. I know of the two for the ignition coils each and one for each distributor. Where were the others used?

Thanks
