i just bought a new set of Borrani's for the 330 gtc. (arghhh!). Should I not wash them, and hope for the best if it doesn't rain or ??? Back when I had my 911 cars, a product called PS21 (I think) was popular for the Fuchs wheels. Not sure if it's still around. thanx s

getting black "crinkle" finish...

would like to get that mild crinkle finish back on the heat shields of the 330 GTC. I think you can do this with black spray paint followed by using a heat lamp to dry them. Anyone ever done this? Other techniques? I was gonna tell my wife I was making some "funny brownies" and then sneak in the shi...

which plugs for my 330gtc?

Decided to change plugs on the car. It came to me with NGK BP6ES plugs and some are perfect (tan) one is even a bit lighter and the others are dark brown/black. Not soot or oil and they don't appreared to be fouled. Should I go to a hotter plug (5ES)...the "book" says 7ES. I live in Houston and don'...

Tickets to the Quail

My best friend and fellow gearhead John, has two extra tickets to the Quail gathering, which includes the Bonham auction. I have nothing to do with the transaction, nor is there anything in it for me, but if someone is interested, send me an email and I'll put you in touch with him. I do know that J...

FWIW, I put Sumitomos on my GTC...probably heresy, but it's a driver. I don't (knowingly) drive it in the rain, so can't tell you much there. From Tire Rack. steve meltzer "unencumbered by the thought process"

Yale hits the big time!

Just glancing through my most recent issue of Keith Martin's Sports Car Market and low and behold, there's a neat interview with our own Yale E. wherein he describes stewardship of his 330 GT. Pretty cool...congrats! steve meltzer “I may be wrong, but I’m never in doubt”

Borranis for my 330 GTC

I'm thinking about biting the bullet on a set of Borranis, #4039, for my '66 GTC. When I spoke with David Reed from Dragone Classics at PB in August of '07, he quoted me $1566/wheel, but I didn't buy them. When I inquired the other day, I nearly stroked out...they were $2200/each + "duty" of $250 an...

Insuring our babies....

I called USAA to insure a '66 'Vette coupe I just got and, in stark contrast to what I'd been told before, the agent said the car (and my others) would only be insured for "actual cash value". This term seems to be an abomination of the English language being both nebulous and indefinable by USAA. I...
