Re: 250 Gte rear leave springs

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the answer. I will wait till powertrain is in car and I have driven the first miles to see how the springs will settle with more weight on the springs.

Thanks
Christopher

250 Gte rear leave springs

Hi Tom, just read your thread on the rear leave installment. Did this in mine some months ago. It is a real hassle. At the moment mine sits a little bit higher on the right side than on the left. I had the leave springs itself overhauled by specialists. One leave was broken and they did both includi...

Re: Carb sync tool for Weber 36 DCS

Thanks for your feedback on how you do it. Will also go in the direction of doing my own adapters.

Thanks

Carb sync tool for Weber 36 DCS

Hi All, hi Tom, I do have SET Synchron testers (see pic) with various adapters but none fit the Weber DCS 36 on the Gte. I in addition have some old Motometer testers (second pic) but would prefer to use the SET. I can not find a suitable adapter for the SET. Before I start to turn adapters on the l...

Re: GTE Seat Covers

Hi Tom, I honestly would use it as it is. Leather gets more charming the better it is used. Use once the year a good leather oil to feed it. It will tell your story of the car after years of use. If you leave it in the sun cover the front and back window. And if it so hot that you sweat as hell cove...

Personal Thanks

I would like to state a big thank you to the community here. I am not a fan (and therfore not at all a follower) of forums here in Germany and I only do daily check on two sites - Fchat and Tom Yang. I am only in the position to own the cars I have because I do (and I love it) all the work on my car...

Original timing mark camshaft

Hi All, hi Tom, my camshafts are marked in two different ways. See picture. One mark is a punch (right in picture) the other a fine line (left in picture). On one camshaft both marks are at the same place, at the other they differ. I guess the thin line is the original factory mark, the punch from a...

Re: gas gauge sending unit 330 GT 2+2

If you have the sender unit out you will see an internal coil of the sender. The arm of the swimmer has a contact touching this coil and by this the different touch points give different readings equaling resitance according to the fuel height in the tank.

Cheers

Re: Cleaning headliner

I found Autoglym car interior cleaner to work wonder on headlinings. Spray on and after some minutes carefully wipe off. This worked a treat with stained and tobacco yellowed headliners.

Re: PF Coupe and Cabriolet belly pans

Hi Dave, from what I can see in your photo I guess yours had a scoop too. The scoop is fixed by rivets to the main belly pan. It seems the holes for that are just visible in you photo. The opening looks exactly like the ones for the scoop. Others here, like Tom, are by far more knowledgeable than my...
