Re: Replace/Fix GTE Fan Clutch

It's usually the carbon brush or a dirty slip ring. Adjust the three screws for proper space and actuation.

Re: Special Wrenches

The lower nuts, the hardest to reach ones, should be the long type which makes them a little easier to work with. Most of the older cars have had them lost/replace with the normal shallow ones. Parker Hall has them in his catalog. BTW, the bent slimmer wrench mod is what we use for both the tall and...

Re: 1965 330 GT 2+2 Series 1 iterim car radio

My series II, the next to the last made, had the factory installed antenna on the right front fender. No speaker grill on the rear deck. No radio just the blank leather cover with the flags. Jim

Re: 250 seat/ball bearings

13mm is large almost half inch, don't think this is correct. As I recall they were about 3/16 or so. Brought one to Ace hardware and found one that was close enough for the rails.

Re: Locking out the advance on Daytona distributor

Get them on a Sun machine and don't try to jamb things up while running them in the car. While in the distributor machine all parameters and service work are at your finger tips. Most shops with a machine should do this at a reasonable cost. The improvements with a well set up distributor are quite ...

Re: 365 GTC4 Fuel Pump

There are a few versions of the Facet pump, be sure you get the lower pressure 2.5 - 4 psi version as there are higher pressure models in that line. Summit and Autozone etc., stock these. Many of the Weber equipped Ferraris used this as OEM, and at that time were Bendix, which became Facet. Great pu...

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

Tom, what are your thoughts on running the pumps in parallel instead of series? The reliability of the fuel delivery system would be improved. This is the way aircraft systems work with their boost pumps. Also the use of injection rated fuel hoses increases the hose life with the modern fuels. Jim

Re: thoughts on attaching rear license plate?

As stated above look inside for filled in holes, and if they match USA plates. Also, caution using two sided tape as outdoor use in sun and cool temps may cause loss of the plate on the highway! Dealers sometimes use a magnetic plate holder, but they move around sometimes.

Re: Evaporust

Have used it for years on old rusted F parts and old aircraft castings. They say it is OK to dump it into the dirt when done as the iron is good for plants.
Easy on the hands, eyes, and nose.

Re: Painting a V12 engine

Steve, I have never used a clear coat on the engines, may look too glossy - don't know. The HD finish closely matches the factory finish both in color and gloss. Jim

Have used the Harley engine silver and found it to be an excellent match and great quality. A little expensive, but HD materials usually are.

Re: engine sealant adhesives

Steve, the 518 is a great all around fluid interface. I always use it on the fuel lines to prevent the weeping that the yellow hoses seem to do. On castings be sure you do not over apply as you do not want it to squeeze into the engine. It is not that expensive if you check the eBay suppliers. Jim

Re: Flywheel bolts and locking up the motor

Ed, also be sure the bolt heads do not extend higher than the flush surface of the flywheel. That is why they use that flat locking strap in place of lock washers. The bolts are special grade 10 as well as the special length - as you have found out. Jim
