I think Tom K is correct; that the color of the front-most lens was dictated by country of first delivery:
USA - amber
UK - amber
Australia - amber
Germany - amber
Italy - clear
Switzerland - clear
France - clear (with those funky yellow-tinged headlights)

the cool kids have this tool for fast and professional-looking safety wiring. Fortunately for me, my dad has one. the only trick to safety wiring is to remember to to wrap it in the direction of tightening the bolt head/plug. For those of you who have bumper bars across the top of your grill, are they circular in their cross-section? Every bar I have ever seen has been circular. Until I saw 12529 at Cavallino this year. The section is elliptical. I am not generally a fan of the bumper bar look, but I thought this one was...

Re: Queen Mother Shift Knob
let me throw this out there - w/ the caveat that there is rarely a conclusively "correct" answer to this stuff - my hypothesis is that NO queen mothers had the 330-type shift knob. I've seen plenty of early (67-68) queens and have never seen the indented knob in any of them. Is is possible that this...
