if/when I pull the cam cover (burned out on this now!) i'll get the one from GT parts. have you ever used this sealant made by Permatex, called "The Right Stuff". It used in place of a gasket, supposed to be great stuff. Expensive, but way cheaper than even the gasket itself. thanx again. steve

Jim, thanx for the info. I'll have to see if I want to redo this. Do you recommend the thin gasket I got from T. Rutlands? Do you use any sort of sealant on it? If so, where? thanx steve

Kerry, thanx for your detailed note. My friend, who was helping on this little project, also suggested the use of the cyanoacrylate (which we did) and we used a thin shim to wedge the little bugger into its groove in the cover. However, the gasket I got from T. Rutlands was really thin...very differ...

Cam Cover leak

I just replaced the left cam cover on my 330 GTC, having done so because of a small oil leak onto the first two plug wires. While replacing the gasket I noticed that the little semi-circular "O-ring", at the front of the cam/engine was torn. I didn't have another, so I glued the broken area, and sil...

thank you everyone for your advice. The fuse looked fine and not particularly corroded, but I scuffed both of the high beam "sockets" and I also sprayed some "magic" contact cleaner on them and also on the female plug into which the headlight connects. Viola, they work fine! BTW: where might I easil...

headlight trouble on my 330 GTC

Thankfully, Ed Montini helped me round up a headlight bezel and I bought some new Cibie H4 lamps from Stern, but when I replaced my Wagner sealed beams with the new lamps, I had no high beam on the left (driver's). Put the old Wagner's sealed beam in and the same thing: no high beam, on the left ONL...

I think you should have sprung for it, even if it was missing a headlamp bezel, 'cause you've got an inside track on those! That's the sort of car I really like to buy...from the owner, with the car and books readily available for inspection, which this seller welcomed. Had it been a comparably pric...

Ed, I too, was following that 330 GTC. Sounded like a very nice car and the seller seemed honest. I thought it was well bought, having seen a white GTC sell at Christie's in August for $145K + commission and it wasn't that nice and didn't have A/C. White doesn't do much for that car. steve

thanx for the quick responses. I haven't gotten a bezel yet, but I think one of the list members may have rounded (pun intended) up two of them for me. Neither Baber nor Petroske had a bezel, tho' Petroske was bidding against me for one on eBay (ultimately, neither of us got it). Think I'll email St...

best source for Cibie H4 headlights

Think I'd like to put some 7" Cibie (or Hella) unsealed beams in my 330 GTC, if I ever find another headlamp bezel! Years ago I had these very nice (as my old memory recalls) Z-beam Cibies. Any idea where I'd get a pair at a good price? Looks like some repros are on eBay. thanx steve

Matt, thanx for the info. Indeed, it is a Carrello. There's a little screw at the bottom of the ring, but not sure how one would get even a right angle screwdriver in there to secure it. thanx again. steve

330 headlight trim ring

somewhere on the road, I seem to have lost a chrome trim ring for the headlight on my 330 GTC. does anyone know if this might be a part that would be cheaper if it were to have come from another car, say an Alfa, etc? thanx steve meltzer

thanx guys. i'll keep you posted. I'm probably gonna solder it. Sorry I missed everyone in Monterey. I went to the Christie's Auction Thrs.nite, where I was delighted to see a white 330 GTC, without AC, and not quite as nice as mine (that's not saying much) go for $140K + commission. steve
