Re: Factory Ferrari visit tips needed

No, Kerry. Build Sheets extend up into the 12000 range. I have numerous build Sheets for 330's above 9315. Beyond the 12000 range, there are still "sheets", but they are very condensed summaries. I believe they are now only available when a car is certified and for extra money.

Butch and Nancy are long time friends and two of the "good people". Sue and I wish them a long and happy life away from the stress of vintage racing.

Tom: Your photos look like the Weber Carburetor Wrench, NOT the Spark Plug Wrench.

Re: Spark plug wrench of 250 toolkit

Long Wrench= Inside Plugs, Short Wrench= Outside Plugs. Yes, there would have been some overlap in the Toolkits, but not over about 100 cars at the most. Toolkits were ordered from outside suppliers and the factory did not keep a large inventory of kits.

Re: 2 alloy tubes under the oil filler plug?!

John: Here are photos of both sides, taken from above. A 10mm (6mm threads) nut is welded to the chassis and the hose is attached using an aluminum strap. You can see the general area on the frame which is directly below the oil fill caps.

Re: 2 alloy tubes under the oil filler plug?!

John: Ferrari adopted this system on the 275 engines, using a plastic tube (instead of the steel pipes) that ended with a taper at the level of the bottom of the oil sump. This created a "road draft" system that used the air flow under the car to produce a vacuum in the tube to draw fumes out of the...

Re: Radiator cap .9 or 1.1?

Correct cap for your car is .9 bar (13 psi). The Italian caps are available from a number of sources.

Drew: If the engine will run on the choke circuit, then the carbs are getting fuel. Don't assume the carbs are OK. When something is wrong, always first go back to what you did last.

Re: 62 250 GTE Fuel pump questions

Andrew: The car will fun fine on the electric pump, 3 psi is plenty of pressure for the Weber carburetors. I seriously doubt the cam that drives the pushrod is worn ( I have never seen one wear measurably). I will let Tom address your other questions.
