Great trip. That is something I always wanted to do. Do you have any photos to share?

Re: Wire wrapped oil/fuel line removal
Seems like I am out voted here. I have not had one of these appart so I will not argue. Looking at the picture again the sealing surface on the two ends is shaped differently so they may only go together one way. I agree it will dampen the pressure gauge movements, however it will dampen them no mat...

Re: Wire wrapped oil/fuel line removal
I would have thought the small holed tube would connect to the block not the pressure gauge. The line that feeds the pressure gauge, does it supply oil to some other part of the engine? Typically the oil line used for reading the oil pressure just goes to the gauge and therefore the line is deadhead...

Re: carburator nuts
Hi Art, That is actually a different book, but it is part of the same series and the text in it is virtually identical to what I was quoting. In my opinion they are some of the best books available for understanding engines. Rudy, I can understand your reluctance. When a valve manufacture first reco...

Re: carburator nuts
Wow a lot of fuss about this topic. Tom Yang is using the lash caps for the purpose they were designed for. Lash caps are sometimes used in racing on titanium valves to provide a hardened surface for the rocker arms to actuate against. This is done because the titanium is too soft to run the rocker ...

Re: My 330 GT Engine To Be Rebuilt
I guess my experience was a little different than most. My car just had the two Lucas fans. It never had an overheating problem. The water temperature was always at the thermostat controlled temperature, even in stop and go rush hour traffic with ambient temperatures over 100 deg F. I do admit I did...

Re: BAAAD News!
Tom, It is possible repair this without removing the heads. I did it on mine. It held for 5 years but then started to weap when the engine was cooling off. It still sealed when the engine was running and when the engine was cold. It is not the best way to go but it will get you by until you have mor...

Re: Front Wheels Bearings 330 GT
Ed,
There is a good bearing place on 24th street just south of the airport. Kaman is the name of the place, I have had good luck matching up bearings and seals from them in the past. I am also familiar with bearing inspection critia if you are interested in reusing your existing bearings.

Re: Road Trip!
The first Saturday morning of the month there is a cars and coffee in Scottsdale at Doubletree and Scottsdale road. There is a fair chance the car has already been to it. Here is a link to one of the past events. http://desert-motors.com/cpg/thumbnails.php?album=183&page=1 Is this the car you are pi...

Re: Crackle Experience
John, Rudy is right. In my experience a lighter / drier coat of paint will give a tighter finer texture. A heavier / wetter coat of paint will give you a courser rougher texture. It will take some experimenting to match your heater. I would start by trying one coat (on a scrap piece of metal) that h...

I use a soldering gun from Sears (the type with two heat settings) and fill the hole with solder. It works very fast and only heats a very small area a minimum amount. Note, a cheap soldering gun will not put enough heat into the area. I also use electical solder because it flows better. Be sure to ...

I pulled the #5 and #6 main caps off last night. The bearings are fine. They still have a nice layer of white metal on them and are not worn down to the copper. Cutting apart the oil filter, it is clean with no signs of a bearing coming apart. So the oil pressure problem is not related to the main b...
