My 330GT has returned!!
My 330GT has returned!!
Hi all,
She's home and I couldnt be more thrilled. Patience has its rewards and all I can say is "perfection"! The car came back 12/8. Since I got the car 7/31/04, Richard has done so much to the car, but this last installment was by far the biggest and the last major work to be done. Total cost is now over 6 figures. Stephen did a sympathetic resto on the car. The major jobs were refinishing the underside and engine bay plus alot more.
It was quite cold when I first fired her up (hence the condensation from the exhaust). I let her warmup for 15 minutes. As the roads outside my neighborhood were salty, I only drove her 9 miles thru the neighborhood. I got up to 40 mph and 4000 rpm. This car is TIGHT and feels new! The engine sounds great and is quite poweful- moreso than before. Its alot quieter- no more valvetrain noise. With the window down I hear equal parts engine and ANSA exhaust- nice balance. The clutch remains heavy (I like it) and the gear box (untouched) is extremely tight. The diff makes no sounds. Car tracks perfectly, and handles well. All brake lines were replaced and the brakes are quite good. The car does NOT feel very vintage to drive- it feels quite modern and utterly capable of keeping up in today's world.
Thanks for reading and enjoy the pictures,
Dan

Re: My 330GT has returned!!
The front seats were redone and quite a good match to the rest of the interior. No dying involved.

Re: My 330GT has returned!!
WOW!, Beautiful car. Congratulations, looks absolutely fantastic. I feel a twinge of jelousy (in a good way). No doubt worth the wait and expense.
I hope you drive the hell out of it.
Enjoy it in good health.

Beautiful! This has been a long restoration, but the quality of the work shows. I hope you put many miles on it. Nice color, by the way!
Re: My 330GT has returned!!
Wonderful job, Dan. I wish my Queen could look so good - without the six figures, naturally.
Those exhaust hangers look perfectly located. Did you have to move them to get them to hang properly?

Dan, Congratulations! Now hook up with Tom and the crowd heading south to Cavallino. Extended road test and maybe win an award!
Well done.
