Yes I know, don't look the clutch disk in the diagram it will not work with this combination. I have another hardened disk for this pressure plate.

Most Historian( Starky, Pourret and others) pretend the they were never there.......
I too have been amused about all the people telling how these are racing cars and never had any seals... the gap between door frame and body is about 10mm (=3/8")... try driving 200 km/h with that and your ears will pop out!

Re: clutch problems
After so much "slap on the back" by pope Kare.
Back to the adjusting of the new on the market clutch for 1958 till 1964 F- cars.
I started today to do the adjustment written in the Ferrari 250gt WSM ( can be found at TomW side).
The longer link on the GB should be place with PLUS 27 degrees .
the little one ,clutch pedal side, PLUS 10 degrees than the clutchadjuster can be activate correctly
To create the freewayspace of 3 mm I prefer so see what I am doing, so I removed the square perforated plate on the belly house.
With this new configuration a little change must bedone.
the longer link must be place MINUS 10-15 degree see pictures below.
How does the clucthfeeling changed?
Well the diafragma clutch need much less power to disengage.
I would say a women could drive it now, very pleasant especially in stop and go.
I tested the clutch several times to get out my garage .
You can simply more play with it ,even when I stopped on my sloop of 20% halfway.
If it will stop the heavy wear of the clucthplate -every 5K km a new one- time will show.
the main" problem" higher torque engine(360 Nm) with 8X34 ratio will not change
I will give a 5000 km report around December 2012 I think .
best
