Re: Bell Housing Fasteners
John: They are all studs.
Re: Bell Housing Fasteners
John, I do have here a 4 speed box out of an SWB or lusso this has fixation holes all around .
but clearly an other partnumber, and not this "cut in " construction on top.
508E 55676 as part number
the bellhousing number I mention above comes with later 250gt and 330gt cars see partcatalog picture.
and was not fixated on the moter afaik .that opening was maybe to let the disk dust out ?
why don´t you have studs on top of you´re picture in the begining ?
may be it was replace some time .They have the tandancy to make cracklines sometime.

Re: Bell Housing Fasteners
John to find partnumber, you must take off the bellhousing its between the box and the house "inside".
I think its correct for the lusso not the PF .

Re: Bell Housing Fasteners
John ,
I got the conformation from the best F- shop in Holland today that the Lusso and early 330GT don´t have studs on top
to fixate the BH .
So everything is fine on the first pic in this thread without threads on the motorblockhousing.
I have no idea why F. did made this change.(cut out/in)
Somebody?

Re: Bell Housing Fasteners
Cornelis, that is very interesting. I looked up random pictures of Ferrari motors on the internet and noticed that some had no studs at top. Maybe this is just coincident. I also looked at pictures of my motor as it came out of the car a number of years ago and there again saw no studs. So, was there four M8x1.25 bolts there? I am hard pressed to think of a reason why this would

Well John ,
If you´re gearbox has the BH showed in my first pictures which I suspect.
You could drill some holes on top of BH , or leave it original.
So simple is that.
ciao

Re: Bell Housing Fasteners
Okay, Cornelis. I think I finally understand. Apparently the diagram that you posted went over my head. Th message is that my b/h has no holes at the top, so no need for studs on the block. Sorry for being so thick. Here's my b/h.
