Remanufacturing Parts
Remanufacturing Parts
Hello All,
In my 4/18/05 post I talked with Tom Farrell about remanufacturing Ferrari parts. He and I kicked around some ideas for parts that we would like to see remade, but we kept coming back to something we both would like to see. The various knock off tools available on the market seem to need improvement, and Tom has some great ideas. If there are any ideas you'd like to see applied to a new knock off tool, please let us know. I can help us all save our knock offs, and keep those dumb lead hammers sheathed in the tool kit!

Here are some things that I need "remanufactured", althought not necessairly via a cnc setup:
-Proper ashtray (mine are funny, although kinda period correct)
-Fuel filler neck rubber
-Headlight bezel (3rd series GTE)
-Knock off tool
-Radiator screen and blind
-Several parts still missing from toolkit (spark plug wrench, grease gun and extension, hub puller)

Do a search on this page for Seaport Mold & Casting, and Harbor Freight. I just got my knockoff tool from Seaport and monster torque wrench from Harbor; very impressive and useful.afwrench wrote:I would be interested in a knockoff tool , have euro 365gtc4.

I bought the 3 eared knockoff socket from Seaport and a used 3/4" Snap-on torque wrench on eBay. The socket has molded plastic to protect the chrome on the knockoffs. This combo works great on my car.

I feel that some of the most difficult to replace things are molded rubber pieces. 250's don't suffer from too much missing plastic stuff because many things that are plastic could be machined out of aluminum. On 275/330 GTS there is a rubber stopper for the side glass at the top of the channel, for 246 GTS there is a similar stopper and a guide at the rear of the door to keep the glass in place.
Aren't the "twist-and-push" key switches for 250 GTE/Lusso/PF getting hard to find?
Since everyone is so humg up on Cheney clamps how about replicas.
Headlight rings are so important and would be so great to remanufacture especially for the Lusso which seem to come off on even the smallest bump.

Hi Steve,
Is this the piece you're talking about?
you can read more about it here:

I wonder if Deane got anywhere with this piece with Lyle Tanner?
