Tom Yang on the barbie

Post by Yale »

Hey you all, shouldn't we have a celebration for Tom's car, (it won't done by the way, we just have to pick a date and celebrate it regardless), and really for Tom and this trip we have all been able to share? Especially since he is going away for awhile it would be great to get together at the end of October. I could volunteer Tom's house upstate as I am sure he wouldn't mind but does anyone else have another idea? Would anyone come?

In my limited experience with East Coast Ferrari gatherings, if you get three 1960's era cars togther you are doing ok. That would be a little weak at this point, no? So if we could get 10 people to say they would come, maybe we could get 5 cars that would actually be running that day or 6 people who don't have to take the wife to the inlaws at the last minute.

Sure T308,

But you'll have to run pretty fast to keep up!

Why not an epic cross country road trip instead? We'll come up with a prize for the car driven from farthest away (maybe a collection of pretty multicolored leaves).

Yale,

If its in October (except the 22nd) I should be available. If fact, if its the 23rd, I'll already be up in central CT and can swing by on my way back.

Things aren't so bad in Texas after all... we manage two or three here...I figured you East Coast people routinely got 5 to 10 cars together.

Well, look at this response; Art S (who I have never met just seen his car in the shop) and secret agent T308 from Cali. If more people do get interested and T308 and anyone else comes from California or Texas, I am sure we can arrange for a ride up to Tom's. If not I guess Tom and I, (and Art if you want to come), can have a beer in New York City and talk about the dynamic Ferrari community.

Best,

Yale,

Why don't we just bring our 330s (Tom's included) to NYC? It would make the beer more interesting.

Keep me posted, I tried putting together a ride last year but it never came together.

Art S.

Kerry says he might come from Seattle and Michael Greenspan says we can use his house if Tom would prefer not trying to get all that he has to get done and host a party at the same time. Maybe this might happen. Right now we could shoot for saturday October 29th if can get enough interest. Yale

Raindate? I plan to come rain or shine - iron oxide doesn't frighten me. Although I must admit, the Ferrari is a lot more fun when I don't have to wipe the fog off of the front window while driving.

The previous Sunday works for me as well, I plan to have the Ferrari in CT that weekend.

First off, I want to thank Yale for the thought! I would love to host a party, less for me, but more to get some East Coast guys together if there is interest. Lucklily, Michael Greenspan has generously spared me the energy of hosting the get together at my house and has offered his house for the event! As much as I would love to have it at my house, the move, and trip plans, leave me very little time for anything else! I will, however, try my best to bring the 330 America to Michael's for this get together if it happens!

Michael has offered Sunday October 23rd for the party, so please let me know if you're interested in coming. I warned Michael that it could go either way, with only me, Yale, and Michael getting together for some burgers, or twenty Ferraris parked all over his yard. Michael said he could handle either way it went, and I will have a good time regardless, so who wants to join us?

I'd love to come, in theory. I have some business travel that week though, so I might not be able to make it- still working out the details.

I don't know if I would invite Shaughnessy to what he would consider a Parts Car Convention. He might have a multi-car hauler parked around the corner!

All kidding aside, I think that I can get back there for the party.

So marque your calanders, Michael Greenspans in Westport Ct on Sunday October 23rd. Now whose Ferrari is actually going to be ready....the odds makers in the UK have 2 to one odds on 3 cars, 10 to one on 4 cars, 40 to one on 5 cars, 100 to one on six cars, etc. Yale

Yale,

I will be there! I'll even bring the Ferrari assuming the weather isn't totally horrible.

Tom S.

My 330 is ready for you, mechanicals are all done and the rest is original, just throw the body away, shorten a few chassis tubes and its ready for the repro Testa Rosa body. I hope you come out to this and I wish you could bring 14I or the 410.

Michael G.,

Thank You for hosting! Where do we get directions?

Michael B,

We won't complain if you bring both of your cars!
