Yale, not sure what others are doing, but im redoing my car and interior, so new plates will add to the new look. The old ones are very nice, but one thing leads to another, then another and before you know it, i need to put fresh air in the tires!!!

Where is this going!!!!!!!

Yeah Ed, but you get to add Italian air to the tires. That has got to be good for a couple of points at the shows!

A 330 GT owner near me in Seattle asked about the kick panels in the lower part of the door panels. I remembered that someone had figured out that the panels from the rear fin of a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air were an almost identical match.

He did some research and found a source at Danchuk.com. If I remember, when this thread was posted, one had to order the panels before they were cut for the Chevy and a bulk purchase was needed.

Now, uncut panels can be ordered individually.

See https://www.danchuk.com/images/Download ... terior.pdf and scroll down to Page 43 for item #573-P.

I remember going to Danchuk to ask if we could get those panels before they were cut for Chevy's. I talked to couple of salesmen to no avail, then called a manager or two with no further luck. About a week later I got a call from Mr. Danchuk saying he had heard about me at a sales meeting and wondered what the heck I was doing! When I explained and sent him photos, he thought it was great and happily sold us the material we needed. Later they included uncut panels in the catalogue. Just shows that one should not take no for an answer. By the way, I later saw the same metal on the inside doors of some Corvairs as well.

If you have not seen the Danchuk Catalogue, it is worth a look. At the time, the paper version was over a hundred pages of parts for '57, 58 & 59 Chevy's. I asked him if one could build a brand new car out of the catalogue and he said "Not quite, but we are working on it!".

I was down at Dennison International today with a fellow 330 GT owner. His car is missing these plates and chrome surrounds on his 4HL car. So, he was talking to Butch about getting it done. Butch had a scrap piece of the Danchuk material, so I took a small piece and put it up against the original piece on my 330 GT.

As you can see, the spacing is just slightly larger than the original. The only other thing I saw is that the plain lines are noticeably higher on the Danchuk material.

A 330GT owner restoring his car emailed me about these kick plates in the door.

I went looking for Danchuk to provide a link to the proper panel. Well, Danchuk no longer sells retail (see https://www.danchuk.com/blog/?p=15406).

So, I guess that you have to find a Danchuk retailer ('57 Chevy parts place) and have them order the part. It's #573-P shown in the attached catalog page.
