Tom,

Congratulations on arriving safely. How was the flight?

Regards,

Art S.

PS. how do you like late spring instead of late fall?

Congratulations! I imagine you will be out of commission for a couple of days recovering from the flight. Did the local Ferrari group meet you with a fanfare of red cars?

O.K., finally got to put up two posts! Internet access is easy if all you want to do is check your email, but uploading files has proven to be a little harder!

The riots are unfortunate, and seems to be more of a turf war that escalated into a race issue. If we stay away from Cronula Beach in the evenings, we should be alright.

Tom,

If you want to experiment with ways to post via email or simpler web interfaces, just let me know what kind of equipment/access you're likely to have, and I can look into options for you.

Hi Tom!

Glad you made the trip okay. Its a long way but I think that it is worth it especially if you are staying a while as you are.

Head up to Manley Beach if you want ot avoid the controversy. Beware though because you may see more than you bargained for!!

Welcome to Australia Tom - I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay downunder! We don't have as many great cars as you guys get to see in the US, but there are a few around if you know where to look! You've done well to dig out those GTCs already. Try and catch up with Miles Sandy at Cavallino Motorsport - D33/148 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale in NSW for some more good 12 cyl cars!
You probably need to talk to Ian Gow, president of the NSW Division of the Ferrari Club for some more suitable contacts too. Don't have his number to hand, but you'll find him in Mosman. If you are in the NSW/Vic part of the world in late February you might want to try and check out the David McKay Memorial Rally on the 24th to 26th, which is for pre 1973 cars. David McKay ran Scuderia Veloce in Australia and was the first real 'proper' importer of Ferraris and also ran a racing team for many years, featuring his much loved 250LM amongst many other cars. I'm sure Ian can give you more details on that.
Enjoy the sunshine at Christmas - much better than freezing in all that snow and slush up in the northern hemisphere!
