Does anyone have access to any material defining what the prices of the 365GT was bringing 10-12 yrs ago? Im curious to understand a potential 365GT im looking at what the owner has in it. Something an old issue of Cavallino or hemmings??

Appreciate the help......

I had a shot a a real nice 365 2+2 (queen mother) for $45K in mid-2002, another vg driver with automatic for $36K at the same time...methinks prices were pretty level until '00-'02, then jumped.

365 Auto?

Post by fest »

Dear Mr 'Bluecat'

was the 365 GT w/ AUTO Trans
perchance the one that was in NYC
(Sports 180 ? or something)
and then went to PA?
(Autosports Designs?)

Car was 'Ice Blue' w/ Black interior?

just asking, as I have been tracking this car

I think I saw it online at Autosport Designs in summer '02 and called about it...seems they wanted $36K, said it was in good-driver condition, looked good in photos, light blue metallic/light blue interior. This is all memory-only...

I presented it to my wife as the opportunity to buy a Ferrari with auto, ps, a/c, etc., that she could drive but we were still fairly fresh off my BMW 635 and she could only see huge repair bills.

365 Auto

'Cat:

Sounds like the same car to me
I think Tom Y saw this car while it was still in NYC
Circa 2000 (?)

Car wound up here:
http://www.evintagemotorcars.com/
apparently, they never were able to sell it
as it is going to Auction soon

I called about it and got the run around
"thinking about keeping it for myself, yada yada yada"
was also told it Smokes
asking price was ±$40K if memory serves-
no bargain, if Engine needs out.

I was also told car has Electrical Issues-
looks like Relay / Fuze Box (under hood)
has had a major meltdown (at some point)
and car was re-wired
in an apparently haphazard fashion
not pretty

BTW,
I believe that this Car is not one of the genuine 'Factory' Automatics-
the S/N does not match known examples
and the installation is not done to Factory standards
rumors exist about 365 GTs converted by Fritz @ Chinetti
perhaps this is one of those
(?)
previous NYC Location fits this scenario, at least

at any rate,
it will be interesting to see what this one brings @ Auction
or what the reserve is, if it fails to sell

It is a shame that this car has been in the hands of speculators
and or dealers for the last 10 years or so
trying to make a 'killing'
hopefully it will go to someone who appreciates it
and will give it the restoration it deserves

fest...I don't think it's the same car. The ad for this one says modified for automatic.

The one I checked out was advertised as a factory automatic and one of just eight or nine produced for the 365 2+2 series. I clearly remember a light blue, euro-look interior, along with a light blue exterior.

Stupidly, I chucked all my note sheets on cars I at least called about during my search in '02.

I'm pretty positive from memory that it was Autosport Design or a similar dealer in the Eastern U.S.

Dear Mr Enio:

sorry to 'hijack' your thread.
thanks for getting us back on track!

I was wondering, is the 365 GT that you are considering
here (in the US)?
or on the 'Continent'?

just curious
(you are still in Milan, no?)

Which might not have much bearing on what the car is worth!
