sharp ferrari 'duds'

Post by fest »

greetings gentlemen

yes, I have 'taken the plunge'

1980 400iA is on the way...in TX right now,
then onto LA (as in CA)
then on to OR (where I be)

so, naturally I am buying all kinds of Ferrari stuff
like these, for example

http://www.ferraribooks.com/inc/pdetail?v=1&pid=1118

I just could not resist!

price is ridiculous (sp)
but I guess I need to get used to THAT!

These appear to be the genuine article
(if not, they got me fooled)
as these have a velcro strip over the zipper
which make them a pain in the @$$ to put on/off access 'fly'
but is right on the money as far as providing 'mutilation protection'
for the precious ferrrari from the nasty zipper

all in all VERY satisfied with the purchase (and Kurt)
came to OR from FL in 2 days
only snag was I ordered XL and boy were they!
(would fit 6-5 285 at least)
Kurt exchanged them for a L pair (no questions/hassles)
and fit is good (I am 6-0 200)

any how I look forward to exchanging banter with you all

Personally, I am partial to the used mechanic's overalls from Pep Boys. At $10.00 I was able to get a pair for my two girls as well as myself and throw them out when they get too nasty! In addition, my kids get a kick out of calling themselves Ed or Ralph or whatever it says on the name tag.

Congratulations on your car! Send pictues to the Owners Gallery so we can all check it out.

All within the relam of good taste...the Ferrari coveralls, that is. I bought a pair of generic ones from Sears, but do not like to wear them. Extreme contortions result in the seam at the junction....well, you finish the sentence.
Here is another "dud", should you decide to take the Ferrari "accessorizing" thing into a dimension previously unexplored:

Hi Luke,

I bought a couple of Sears overalls, and I guess my body proportions fit a little better, but do have to watch your "positioning" when bending a certain way! They were great for when I was scraping the undercoating, and applying POR-15. I just shuddered at the thought!

I wonder if they sell a big gold pendant to go with that ring?

shoes

Post by Deane »

While we're sort of on the subject, does anybody out there actually OWN driving shoes (the ones with sole tread running up the heel)? I just wear a narrow pair of topsiders to keep my clutch foot from brushing the brake pedal on the way down. Gotta keep those dogs in line...

Hi Deane,

I own a pair of Simpsons, but that was for my track days with the 911. Although they are great for track use, they're a little overkill for the street. Luckily I don't have EEE feet, so most of my shoes are fine for driving narrow spaced pedals. It's a double jointed ankle I wish I had!

baby needs a new pair of shoes

Post by fest »

I was in fact, shopping for 'real' driving shoes
when I happpend accross these babies
(yes I did in fact have to order them)

I was thinking about Simpsons as well
but they are admittedly overkill for the street
and maybe too hot withe the nomex and all

they DID make a sprint car model shoe
(or something like that)
which were a cross between driving and pit duty use
and looked pretty good
but they are NLA, I guess
(do they make a HOMER model?)

any suggestions for a good driving shoe?
I DO have EEE feet, BTW
so finding the right shoes is usually challenging
