Anyone know of a source for 330GT series 2 wings/fender

Post by seamusdavis »

It would be a great help if anyone knows of a source for a replacement drivers side wing (fender) for my 330gt series 1.

An idiot in a Volvo 4x4 decided to come round a corner too fast and stove mine in, I will also be looking for the headlight rim too.

Thought I would start the search before it gets to the reapir shop

Thanks

Shaun, email sent to you with a lead in the UK.

BTW, since Shaun's 330 is RHD, he wants the right front fender for a 4HL car.

There's a hulk in France. See http://www.parrotbyte.com/330GTRegistry/?6361. It's been on eBay forever as way too high a price. He started out in 2003 at €1,500 with no bids and now wants €6,000. Needless to say, it hasn't sold.
Regards, Kerry

Shaun,

I'm very sorry to hear about your car! If it's the other person's fault, will their insurance be covering the cost of repairs to bring the car back to top shape?

Regarding parts, here are my leads:

Tom Yang looked at a couple of parted out S1s a year or so ago - are these still available?

Tom S. usually has some parts from 330s contact him.

Also, Fred Petroske has several he has been breaking as well.

The headlight rims come up on ebay every six months or so if the prior leads don't work.

Good Luck!

I don't remember the gentleman's name but he was some sort of collector/parts dealer (Tom S. light) in CT that passed away. I remember there were several 330s in various states of completeness.

I have one more source not mentioned.

T. Rutlands has the shell of S/N# 7369 in Georgia. Appears to be in good shape. Here is a picture they sent to me when I inquired about some parts. There are more pictures available on Kerry's 330 GT Registry.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions everyone.

I have been in touch with Maranellos and they have a few NOS panels left so I should be OK for those.

The only item they donot seem to have is the front bumper, so I will be trying to source one of these.

The good news is that the car is fully covered by the other parties insurance so for the first time everwith one of my classic car repairs....money is no object.

thanks again and if anyone has a bumper pls let me know

Remember, in order to match the paint correctly, they will need to paint the whole car!

Art,

How would you know ;-}

Anyway I am not sure that is true anymore, my trunk (only) was painted and my car would seem to be a very hard to match metallic color, it's not discernible. Best, Yale

paint the whole car

Post by seamusdavis »

I was going to try this one aswell, I am hoping their paint matcjing technology is not so good so I will be able to get the insurance to pay for a complete repaint.

Similar to my father in law who got the whole house carpeted because of an iron burn downstairs......could not get a matching section so needed to be refitted throughout.

Hoping for a ferrari enthusiast assessor

Tom Shaugnessy had a set of S1 headlight trim pieces earlier this year, you should try him, he may have some of the other bits you need too.

Cheers,

There are some 4HL headlight trim rings on eBay right now. What's even better, they are in the UK:
