fispa fuel pump diaphragm

Post by fuiszt »

Hello all,
Just found this board. I've got a leaky fuel filter/regulator, with gas coming out at the seam where the diaphraghm is-Is this part available, or can it be fixed with a little Mr. gasket?

Welcome to the forum!

You're talking about this filter, right?

The gasket will probaby be easier to make.

The diaphraghm is most likely shrunk or rotted. If that is the reason for the leak the unit will not function as it is meant unless the diaphraghm/spring assembly is replaced. Partsource in Maine seem to specialize in fuel related parts and pieces. Here is the link to their site:

You may also want to check with "Then and Now Automotive" near Boston, MA, to see if they have the part(s) you need.

Good luck,

re: the Fispa fuel pressure regulator/filter diaphragm.

I ran across this web site awhile ago. I haven't bought it (don't need it, so far), but it looks like what you're talking about. At $25.00 it's not cheap, but I think it would beat making one...

All the best,

Got mine yesterday from the link above. Looks just like the original and fits perfect too.
I put it all back together-goes back in the car this weekend. hopefully won't need the fire extinguisher.

New diaphragm works great, but needed a little gas-proof liquid gasket to not leak at all. How satisfying! a 45 minute project with $30 in parts.
Anyone else trying this-make sure you keep the orientation of the bottom half the same on reassembly so your fuel hoses will go on easily, and use a very thin layer of the liquid gasket ( dont want dribble-over heading downstream to the webers).
