Len is one of my first contacts in the world of Ferrari. Only a handful of us were wired in those days (mid 1990's or so) and I think it was David (Booth) who suggested I write him a letter. I did - and found a friend.
A car is always reflected through its owner. If no one cares about a car, the car will remain in the shadow. Len is one of the pioneers, who stood up and put up a register for a car that was too common to most Ferrari historians of the day. Len started a movement by making a point that it is okay to own a 2+2 and that one should actually be proud to own one!
I have huge respect for Len's work. He is one of the key characters who put me on the track to follow these cars.
Best wishes, Kare

Len was one of the first people I talked to when I found my car. He was very encouraging to me, saying that I could do this myself. I have spoken to him a couple of times a year since and when I finally met him in August, he was still just as friendly and encouraging. If a letter is sent, make sure my name is on it!
I've shared some great memories with Len Miller in Monterey for the past several years. He has always been supportive of me and this web site, and I owe him a lot for the people he has introduced to me, and the friends I've made.
I'm trying to get some more information on Len's condition. Len had surgery to have his appendix removed, but they discovered some issues with his intestines. My thoughts are with him and his family.

In 1989 I wrote a letter to Cavallino-magazine (can't remember its contents) that was forwarded to Len, who immediately sent me a letter to Argentina.
I can only agree with Kare.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away."
Best wishes

Couldn't agree more on the sentiments expressed ahead of me.
In the first of many long telephone conversations back in probably 1989-90, Len told me that he started the Register after going to a Ferrari club meeting (FCA, FOC, doesn't really matter..) in the late 1980s, where all the new attendees were invited to stand up and introduce themselves and say what sort of Ferrari they owned. First guy stands up and lays claim to, say, a Series I cabriolet: nice round of applause ensues. Next guy - 250 SWB: wild applause, some cheering. Len stands up - 250 GTE: nothing. He said he realized right then that the GTE deserved better attention and appreciation and decided to try to contact the owners and give them a place to express their enthusiasm for the model.
And the path that began there, has led us all to this very spot - a place that's highly respected by vintage Ferrari owners, no matter what model they own, and a recognition that the GTE and 330 2+2 owners have created that rarest of all things in this day and age: a community. Here's to the guy who was first. A genuine enthusiast, a great host and a real gentleman.

I contacted Len many years ago about his GTE register. He very graciously sent me a huge booklet of information including a re-print of the owners manual and sent me 6 months of his news letter at no charge. He told me if I didn't like the owners books and technical information I could just keep them and not pay for them. I sent him a check.
Wow, what to say. Len gave me a windsheild sun shade once, it was cut
specifically for a GTE. That in itself says not enough about how generous he was with both his time and encouragement - but it helps me express just that.
I wish I wasn't so far away, and I hope he makes it to Monterey next year. Forza lenzio.
Certainly add me to any well wishes that go out to his family.

Let me add my voice in praise of all that Len Miller has done for us. Always generous with his time and knowledge, a wonderful and gracious host and general good guy! His creation has assured that these cars will survive. Get well Len. We are all pulling for you.
I'm sorry to report that Len passed away yesterday, November 9.
For those near Monterey, funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, November 13 at the Paul Mortuary, 390 White House Avenue, Pacific Grove, California.
