The photo of the maroon car with the woman in front looks like the color Zac is painting the GTE. Maybe you could buy one and Zac could have it painted!

I've seen several colors that look good on a Lusso, but this green is spectacular!
I'm not sure where I got the photos. The placard on the windshield says "Greenwich Concours d'Elegance" so I assume that's the event at which they were taken.
The second one is my current Windows background. If anyone would like the larger versions they're at:

I saw the green car close up when it was at Fantasy Junction. It had a very nice interior-- both in color and patina.

Art - as a matter of fact, I really like the Lambo 350GT/400GT cars a lot and nearly bought the red 400GT 2+2 on eBay last week -- except the seller (Al Burtoni Lamborghini) would not allow a prepurchase inspection or any review of the documentation on the car. Then Mr. Burtoni cursed me out on the phone when I pressed him as to why -- real nice guy, eh?

I've been watching/searching just to see if a good Lambo surfaces. If the price/condition is right, I think I'll pursue this one.

Good luck with it Steve,

I have not heard any negative comments about owner/dealer. I understand that the car was purchased by the dealer from its elderly, long-time owner for about $100k. I also heard that this is a good one. Mind you, all of this information is third hand.

I suspect it will sell for quite a high price.

Re: ebay Lamborghini 350 GT...absolutely stunning.

I look at an example like this and then the post-Miura Lambos and wonder what happened.

Given the means and choice, I'd go for this car over a Lusso any day.

I've checked the Lamborghini Registry and the only thing a bit peculiar is that the chassis # 0232 is a duplicate to another car listed in the registry. The black/saddle car is shown (picture circa 2000) as having been owned in Canada and underwent some mechanical restoration around that time before being sold to presumably the recent owner. Black (as you know from my posts) is not my favorite color, but the saddle (as opposed to tan) interior is. If the car can be purchased under $170K, I think its a good buy. It is a driver (not a show car) so it would work fine for me as a 2-seat GT car until we see a downturn in the market whereby hopefully I can scoop up a Lusso. I just don't think I'm going to find anything in my price range so the Lusso may be a dashed dream at this point. Buy I agree that the lighter weight, increased power, 5-speed ZF gearbox, and independent rear suspension are but a few of the reasons to like the 350GT/400GT cars.....plus, it gives me some manufacturer diversity in my collection.

I'll let you guys know how this turns out as I'm going to call the seller later this morning and make an offer.

Steve - I think you are on the right track. The 350GT has got to be one of the most elegant and understated of the Italian Gran Tourismos. In the early nineties I went back to Germany after a 1o year absence and crisscrossed the country in a BMW 5series rent a car. On a particular nice stretch of new autobahn I found myself flat out (indicated 230 km/h) in the left lane enjoying life when a car approached behind me. He turned on his left turnsignal and I moved over. A silver haired gentleman passed me at what must have been 50-60 km/h faster than me. The car was a 350GT and it looked stunning in its natural habitat.
The black car has a very italian looking interior but like the Lusso the 350GT seems to look best in lighter metallic type colors. And that would only be a repaint away.

I talked with the owner and am within $10K of having a deal done. Hope to have a signed Bill of Sale with him within 24 hours and I have a call into Gary Bobileff now to see who he recommends for a quality Prepurchase Inspection in the Beverly Hills area.

If anyone has got a PPI contact/recommendation, let me know.

Steve,

I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Tom Shaughnessy should be good but I can't remember if he's located in N. Cal. or S. Cal. Other than that, you'll have to get someone from the west coast to chime in.

Tom is in San Clemente, between Los Angeles and San Diego. Not too far from us.

Steve - I hope you get the car. I am not familiar with the 350 GT, but the photos are spectacular. There is certainly nothing like that on the road today. Good luck!
