Hello Ed,

Well this is a 5 year project or more

it is a very early PF coupe 58 chassis.

the original body was in a very bad shape and was sold on bring on a trailer.

I could buy a absolut rust free body one year ago.

but a trained eye can see its from a pf cabriolet 61 !!! which was/is transformed in a 250gt California Spyder replica.

yes unbelievable.

this still happen.

I think only 200 orginal. PF cabrio´s were build. (1 million car ? )

So a lot to transform back to original configuration.

ciao

Hi Cornelis, thanks for sharing the pictures. Do you intend to modify the sides of the cabriolet to look like a coupe? Coincidentally, I have seen a Series II coupe that was converted to a cabriolet.

Hello John,
That little bend back in the lower part of the org .body by PF coupe is hardly seen,
I prefer to keep the profile line on the higher level, especially while the car is original white over black leather.
white paint gives no good detailing.
I think that profile line does that more.
this will be NO matching car at all so no problem here.
I don't build this car up for the next owner

ciao

Thanks Cornelis. I really would like to see how you will manage the side windows, seeing the discrepancy between the roof of the coupe and the door openings of the cabriolet. It will be a challenge for sure. Keep me posted please.

Well John ,
I do have a stock of 3 parted F. pf coupe´s
Parted out 2 in the mid 80th, and one mid 90th they had no value at that time.
Only the engines and the overdrive unit could find a buyer.
So all the body panels are there two or triple I think.
my intention was to do every thing(restauration) my self but think, its time to bring the body detailing to the best shop in NL.
The org. front window of a cabriolet is standing very steep which looks very bad imo.
The serie 1 &2 pf coupe front window are also different with diff serroundings.
As you can see the cabrio doors are very short comparing to a coupe .
the cabrio. was build for short leg Italians with a lot of headroom.
ciao

I see, Cornelis, it is all starting to make sense now. I'm sure the project will be a success, with you at the helm.
