Maryland Car Rally and Show to go to

Post by Yale »

Hey Folks,

Cumberland Maryland is an old industrial town in the mountains of Western Maryland. It used to be the point that seven railroads (going right through the center of town), America's first highway and canal system moved goods from the interior of the country to the Middle Atlantic Seaboard.

I-78 is a great highway that goes up and down the mountains to the town and there are very nice roads all around the town and they are having a rally, show, autocross etc. thing there from May 30th to June 1st.

I think I have convinced our own, Mr. Please, Please, Please, Mr. Dynamite, King of Foam and cars in boxes himself to show up with me, (of course I am talking about our own Mr. Yang), so check it out. Here is a link:

I told Yale I would be interested in attending, but would have to ride "shotgun" in his car because I doubt my car would be done in time!

I am going to drive the queen (the car, not my wife) to Norfolk for the Chrysler Museum Ferrari show May 17, then the whole exhasut system gets dropped for the new stainless steel muffler installation (since I bought them a year ago). Given my pace, it will be out of commission for a month or so.

Come on Bryan it only takes 3 to 5 hours to put on an exhaust. Why don't you drive on up. By the way the road hrough Cumberland is I 68 not I 78. Best, Yale

3 to 5 hours should take care of the cursing portion, though.

Weather forcast is for thunderstorms and large hail tomorrow in the DC area. I'm backing out.
Anyone interested in setting up another meeting of cars for the east coast?
