cracked Cromodora mag

Post by Steve Meltzer »

While painting and repainting and repainting my mags, I noted a small crack on the back edge, near the tire bead line, of one of the wheels. About 1" long, running toward the front of the wheel. Can these be welded? argghhhhh! s

There is a picture of a what was a very nice 330 2+2 S2 in a junk yard that had a similar problem that was not caught prior to failure.

I'm not sure about the repair but good luck!

Steve, what size are the wheels? Are they 14X7 or 14X6.5?

I have welded up some major curb rash on these wheels and have located the correct alloy of Magnesium to bond at the same temp as the parent material.
