I use hardware store spray silicone on the felts to good effect. Remember, for a Lucas motor, speed is an unnatural act.

I have a pair for my 308 that I haven't installed yet. The theory is good, eliminating about 1/2 of the wiring (switched ground side). Of course, some of the problem will be the old grease in the motors and gears. However, that's several hours of work to R&R them to replace the grease. I'm hoping that these switch boxes will stave off that repair for a few years.

There's quite a bit of information and usage of these boxes on FerrariChat.com particularly in the 308 section. So do your homework there.

I use graphite powder in the felt runners. It doubles the speed UP to "glacial". It now takes "only" about 5 or 6 seconds to fully close from fully open.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with Windows.
