I have a feeling that is the price no matter what the dollar is worth. Yale

There's a good sheetmetal fabricator near me, I wounde what it would cost to do a run of 20 or so? I'd imagine it would be less than $2775 per set.

Does anyone have schematics?

Yale,

I saw it but could not enlarge it. I'd need the specs to get a quote.

Thanks Robert.

I'll send it to the fabricator but I suspent that there isn't enough info in that print to do the job right. Too many missing details and dimentions.

Hi Art,

You should ask Francois if he has a snap exhaust tip to borrow. He may have one if you plan on making some.

Tom,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if he has a dead one that can be sacrificed. We will need to dissect one and draw up our own schematics.

With this in mind, I think I will start by using the drawings we already have to get a ballpark estimate of the cost of the job. Depending on where the sheetmetal jobshop estimate comes in, we can decide of this really makes sense.

If things aren't too busy next week, I'll try to speak with the two shops in the area that I know and see what they have to say.

Snap Extractors

Post by giovanni44 »

A friend of mine had a prewar car being restored and due to the fact that there were some parts missing, what he did was to digitize an existing part/drawing and use that data to create a drawing for the part he needed. Perhaps that would work in this case. It would still require a craftsman to fabricate the part but with a usable drawing it would be possible although time consuming.

Hope this helps,

Giovanni
