Looking for a 330 gt series 2

Post by GAR 72 »

Hi guys,
Im looking for a concours level series 2. Does anybody know of any? What would you say the price should be. Cavalino puts it at $ 130-140 for the best examples. Would this be a good guide? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum! That price is a time averaged number, the reality is of the surviving LHDs, most all of the really good cars in the US are owned by guys who regard them as their Viking funeral cars and woulds flat never sell them. I would be astonished if you could find a car in that condition for anything near that amount. But I hope you do, and wish you good hunting! M

Gunn: Great to connect again! When you are next in the US East Coast come by and drive mine, you will be sold forever, but with the understanding 9727 is not for sale at any price. Good hunting! M

Hi Gunn,

Welcome aboard. Finding a perfect Series II 330 may take some doing, but with all the obsessed owners on this site still casually looking should help you cast your net a little wider.

Less than stellar 330s have been appearing on E-bay on occasion, and may be an option where a little more money can be spent getting it perfect. Most guys on this site who own very nice examples created them from average cars and hard work. The journey can be just as much fun!

In October I looked at a couple of not-perfect but very nice 330 2+2's.

One of them, at a CA Ferrari dealer, was $109K and gone with the wind a week after tellng the sales guy that I wasn't going to be able to do it (I was at the top of the waiting list).

Another one is here in Dallas; I offered $90K cash but got turned down. My guess is the owner would look at $125K.
