I used to make the diaphragm/membrane my self.
I have looked to the new single rubber replacemant one, with have a heavy chrimmep plate on the back side.
the org Fispa has e three tine layers ,
I bought the kit fron Dennes Mc Cann and it looks good( only about 150usd) but have not tested the membrane or the new all valves.

To decide how thick the space must be you can take out the pin by hand an see the reach 2-4 mm
I made it so, that it touch the rocker arm when mp is bolted on.
thats all I can provided.

hope it will last and work the next years.
everything is new now ,so what can happen now?

Best

To measure up the Reach of the pin the excentix must stay in his "death or zero position"
you could lift up one rear wheel an turn around, but that should be known.

the price of Mc Cann is even cheaper:
95180130
MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP REPAIR KIT, 250/275/330 (FISPA SUP150)

$135.00

a new aspect of maintance wil be cleaning the parts and body of the mp once a year?
Those who have no ultrasonic Bath, could make an appointment at the dentist.
If no driving will help?
I cannot say.

Michael Bayer wrote:Tom This may be the definitive treatise on rebuilding these! One other nit, I added lock washers to the two studs that mount the pump to the engine.

Has anyone tried flipping the actuators levers as I posed above to get more stroke?
Michael, its not possible to flip the actuators you dont get in the pin of the rockerarm .20
I am normaly a part exchanger as long as I have enough in my stock.
But since most of my pumps are relativly worn I start the look to repair a few this week.
In my case it was not enough to put in a new reperation set.
My stroke was to short
I let made my machinist a new rockerarm by hands
But he dont like to make some more.
So I put simple a 8mm nut around the pin link(19) after drilling this to the right size 4,8mm
this Mechpump I drive since monday and works without problems( Home - Work)
So to repair a heavy worn rocket arm there are several options
1. simply weld on some meterial on the rocket arm
2.take a thicker pin and drill the hole larger on the actuators(2)
3 .or put a shell/ metal tube over the pin( 20)
So the right round schell will be the easest solution I think.

For those who drive "defensive" this will be not a problem in the future
And sink the fuelconsumption by the way.
