Ok, I haven't tried that technique yet. I will probably have to find a pothole at the bottom of a hill to get it to work on my car, but will give it some thought.

'night.

the 330s were made by Pinifarina. Scagletti made the 275s. Scagletti was later bought out by Ferrari and that division now makes all of the bodies.

Kerry:

Thatt's what I thought. But my Rosso Rubino 106-R-12 is listed as a Scagletti color, but is not as a Pinninfarina color choice. Just wondering how much interchange there was between the two body builders.

Probably a special order. Since the 275s were still in production when your car was made, the dealer would have the Scagletti color chips and the customer asked for that color on his 330GT.

Dear All,

I would need some help from the experts.

My 1963 250 GTE (4701GT) was originally Grigio Argento.

As far as I found out in the forum there were three Grigio Argentos in the 1960's:
Grigio Argento 18940M (Italver)
Grigio Argento 20265 A (Italver)
Grigio Argento 25090

Which would be the right one for a 1963 GTE?

What would be a complementary new paint comparable to this collour?

Any help or any additional information on my car would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Dear All,

I finally have confirmation that my original color was Grigio Argento 20265 A from Italver. Does anybody know a supplier who still has the original receipe or can anyone
give me the name of a modern color which is mor or less identical. Thanks a lot for any help.

See http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/P ... m#20140206 for how I matched Grigio Argento 25090 A from Italver.
