I finally pulled the Trigger

Post by gsjohnson »

Okay, I just purchased a 65 330 GT S/N 6997 over the weekend. My first Ferrari. After a long and exhausting 4 month search the seller and I came upon an agreed price. The only negative is that I am in So Cal and the car is located in Florida. Long wait until the car gets here...sigh...

I finally pulled the Trigger

Good for you, you will definitely not regret buying a vintage ferrari especially with Tom & the great bunch on his site
I suppose you could always pop over to Florida & drive it back !!!!!!!!! but writing from Manchester in the UK living in SoCal does not see too big a negative for you to overcome.
Good luck & best regards

GS,

Simple solution to the negative: One way plane ticket and a pile of tools in the carry on.

By the way, I don't know if you have researched the previous owner of your car, if not check here:

Yes I was aware of this. This car has more documentation then all of the other 330s put together that I looked at. This car has an incredible 39,000 original kilometers and it is documented. It has received 2 paint jobs and a motor rebuild 18,000 miles ago. All with invioces and receipts including 2 log books showing every little thing that happened or was done to this car. These log books were passed on from owner to owner and each subsequent owner added to them. The last two owners have receipts totaling $60,000 alone. I spoke by phone to all of the previous 4 owners and found out everything I could about this car. It doesn't leak a drop of oil from anywhere. It's not perfect, but a very clean driver. I didn't want a garage queen. I wanted the very best driver with very good cosmetics that I could find. And best of all, I paid a very fair price for the car from a great seller. I was surprised that this car was on the market for so long. My fault, I looked at all of the cars around me first. Then I began to expand to out of state vehicles, find ng this car in Florida... about as far away as I could get. I can't wait till the car gets here! I'm ready to pee in my pants...

Greg,

July would work. I'll get Steve Pomerantz, my friend with a 330 GT
to join in. He lives not far from you.
