U Joint Greese Tool

Post by william »

I bought a U joint greese tool from Parker Hall and was going to use it last night, however was unable to as the dia. of the threaded end on the tool is to big to fit into the U-joint greese holes.

Are there different threaded sizes of these holes?

Thanks

The original Ferrari fittings I believe are larger than a standard us fitting. Your car may have been retrofitted with standard us fittings.

Hi Tom W,

Not real sure, I have what looks to be the orginal slotted screw plugs.

I spoke to Hilary Raab last night and may see him this weekend with the car to get his opinion.

I also spoke to Parker Hall he was unsure of another size.

Your car has threaded plugs?

If so you need to install zerks. The zerks need to match your grease gun.

The nipples on my F are larger diameter than a standard grease gun nipple. I matters not to me since I have my original grease gun.

Hi William

Mine has the slotted screws, but I have a nozzle with a rubber cone on the end and works quite well. You just hold it into the hole with a little pressure and inject grease to your hearts content.

If you have a nonstandard zerk fitting, there a nozzles which adjust to the different sizes.

I have no Idea where I got them, I've had them so long. Probably J.C.Whitney, many years and cars ago. But I bet a Auto parts place could get them.

Cheers
