exhaust music

Does your 330 GT 2+2 make nice exhaust music? If so which mufflers are you using?

Some systems sound better, but look at this journal entry:

A Ferrari GTC/4 is what John's referring to. Although he may be partial to them, it's often said that they make a great sound.

verification of C4 music and more

All the V12's make the music I want to hear.

The gas pedal is the volume and the gear shifter changes the channels.

I would tend to agree the 365 CTC/4's seem to stand out when in good tune.

Did anyone hear the one the that was at yesterday's Stamford show? It sounded like something out of early 70's Le Mans.

Another car that I clearly remember being stand out in sound and in overall being faster than fast was an aluminum bodied 275 GTB competion car that ran at Moroso this past Cavillino 2008. The car has no paint on it.

Man that guy could drive. If you were blindfolded you could distinctly tell when it was him when he went by.

Now that car has the music.

Exhaust Sound

Hi Guys

A very nice YouTube clip if you like nice sounds and sights. One of the Ferrari - Shell productions, but much longer than a TV version

To me the mid/late 60s car was the best thru the streets of NY. Just the right amount of mechanical thrash and exhaust burble. The latest cars with their monotonous high pitched shriek just don't do it for me. Am I too old??
That's why I love the C4 so much. Third gear at red line (110pmh) and you get mechanical thrash of the cam chain and the whole valve train, exhaust boom, intake shriek etc. It's not just one frequency but a full symphony orchestra playing with booming bass, crashing cymbals, delicate violins, blah blah blah. Did you guess I love C4s??

Cheers

Dear Yangsters,

A sound that will stay with me forever is from the fall days of 1967.

Between terms at the Harvard Business School where I was working on my MBA, I and five fellow students started to build a six bedroom ski lodge on the ridge across from SugarBush, Glen Ellen and Mad River Glen ski areas. The job extended beyond the summer break and continued on weekends in the fall and into the winter. At lunchtime we would drive down to the village at the bottom of the hill called Irasville to a small sandwich shop on the side of the road. Several times as we were arriving for lunch a dark 275GTB/4 would just be leaving going south on Route 100 in the direction of Sugarbush. The sound of that car winding out through the gears headed down the valley into the distance was an unforgettable symphony and the memory still sends chills down my spine.

Back to reality, you can hear a different chorus with the sounds of my Lampredi four on the Mondial thread.

Best regards,

Robert
