Seeing Tom's great cars at Meadowbrook, and meeting him face to face for a second time was great. There are a LOT of good vintage Ferraris that are able to be driven and shown that owe a lot to Tom's business of supplying the many parts made of unobtanium. For most of us who do not have unlimited bank accounts, he is MUCH more valuable than Ferrari Classiche. And he shares his encyclopedic knowledge about our cars very freely, which helps all of us.
That said, it is fun to engage in the ribbing too. :D

undertray an option?
The dealer from whom I bought my 1967 330 2+2 says that the car would not have come from the factory with the undertray. Correct?
Re: undertray an option?
No, they came from Pininfarina to Ferrari with the belly pan. See pages 5 & 6-1 of the body parts book.GEODAVKY wrote:The dealer from whom I bought my 1967 330 2+2 says that the car would not have come from the factory with the undertray. Correct?

Re: undertray an option?
I think 330s had under trays when they came from Italy. They were often removed and discarded during their first lube service.GEODAVKY wrote:The dealer from whom I bought my 1967 330 2+2 says that the car would not have come from the factory with the undertray. Correct?

Belly Pans
Have to agree with Kerry and Tom - based on my car with belly pan. (If I disagreed I would keep it to myself). There has been so little upgrading of the car that I can't imagine someone would add a belly pan if it didn't already have one.
A note, the pan is fairly crude, obviously made by hand, about like my fabrication skills would produce, using vice grips to make the bends and folds.
Cheers

An interesting point on the belly pan on my GTE. It is definetly
the original one that came with the car. A bit crudely made as with
most things on the car, it remains in perfect, dent free condition!
This leads me to believe that the car was rarely properly serviced,
however.
