undertray

Post by GEODAVKY »

Is there supposed to be an undertray on the 330 GT 2+2?

Yes, there is a belly pan on the 330 GT.

See http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/BellyPan.htm for more information. (Sorry, had the wrong link before).

There is also a small pan that fits under the radiator.

Kerry,

The 330 GT certainly rides much higher to the ground that many modern ferraris. Is the pan essential to the running of the car?

The main function is cooling of the transmission. Which helps keep the interior cool, a prime concern in a 330 GT.

Thanks Kerry. Makes sense. Do you know of anyone who sells either original used or aftermarket shields for a Series I interim car?

No, but I made an engineering drawing of mine that a sheet metal guy could use to make one. It's not too complicated, mainly flat, so little hammering and shaping required.

Getting Shaughnessy to find the time to dig it out, now that's the trick!

Kerry: Check that e mail, someone is clearly hacked into Tom's computer and is offering to not only sell some of Tom's mountain of pretties, but to find it and then crate it. That could not be Tom, obviously there is some villainous imposter in his stead. This must be stopped.

BINGO ![
Now Hookem, if the plywood is also in his way, you've got it made.

Tom, speaking of parts in the way, do you still have a 330 GT gas tank? You had three when I bought one several years ago. There's a guy in BC that needs one. If you do, I can pick it up when I visit and it'll be a good excuse to go over to Vancouver Island and see his car.

Man. You guys are hard on Tom. I'd heard he was a pretty straightup sort.

So straight up, he's a great target for some good natured ribbing.

Besides, he's a ex-New Yorker, and it's what we do.

Tom is so New York that if he isn't ribbed for a while he begins to think we don't like him.
