Color?

Post by h00kem »

My 330 GT 2+2 was originally red from the factory. I don't particularly like the car in red. I bought it knowing that it needs a total repaint. So I have the opportunity to do a color change. Need your advise. 1) Repaint the car a color that pleases me - silver or darker blue or 2) repaint the car to the original color to maintain its original heritage. I should also say that I have no desire to show the car, it's a driver. I know that it is a matter of personal choice but some other opinions are appreciated.

Do #1, using a color you like that was one of the available colors when the car was made. Now, if you like the original color, I would use that.

Color?

Post by Dr. Ian Levy »

Hello
I changed the colour of my GTC4 to Midnight Blue Metallic & have no regrets. I have also entered it successfully in Concours without detriment so there should be no probem if/when you sell it on.
I agree with Kerry & would pick a colour that you like from those that were originally offered & go for it.

My vote, though a little late, is to paint it whatever color you like, provided it's not a lowrider metal flake. Not that there's anything wrong with that type of metal flake, just not on a Vintage Ferrari!

Enjoy the car in your stewardship.

I am steadfast on staying with original color. Anal quirk,

I vote for any original color. That way should you change your mind later on and decide to sell or show, you will not be penalized. And, for what it's worth, I like the midnight blue...

+1
My 330 was originally silver and then it was changed to red and then back again to the original silver. Interestingly enough, if the car had been originally red, I probably would have painted it silver anyway.
