Search function down?

Post by JAV »

Is the search function down? I'm trying to find info on the glass fuel filter/regulator pressure and even searching "filter" finds no matches.

John, what kind of information are you looking for?

I'm told the glass fuel filter in the engine bay is also a fuel pressure regulator. I have purchased a new ethanol safe diaphragm for it and wanted to check to see that the pressure is still correct... of course I don't know what that pressure should be so it's tough to check.

I'm guessing it should be 5-7 psi but I hvae no clue if thats correct. Any thoughts?

John, the fuel delivery pressure should be roughly 3 to 3.5 psi. The Weber manuals will tell you .2 to .3 kg/sq.cm whoch is 2.84 psi. Of course you have to maintain that pressure at higher rpms to maintain volume.

I would concur that the search function is not working, or disabled.

The search function should be working correctly now. There was a problem with one of the database tables, and the easiest way to fix it was to rebuild the whole search index. One side effect of this is that it's likely that searching may be a little faster now than before.

Yes - thank you!

Not to be pain and it may have nothing to do with the site but could someone tell me if they I can only retreive 1 thread from the search results without re performing the same search? If I read one thread and then try to back up to read another thread, I'm kicked out and have to re-search the same terms again.

It does this on all my computers -home, work & laptop and it did this before file re-indexing too.

It has to do with how the web server handles the back function. It seems to cause the previous page to be reloaded as it was before the search was done. Perhaps Josh can change this behavior.

In the meantime, a work-around:
If you use a browser that supports tabs for multiple web pages open at one time, you can (in IE 7 and Firefox), right click on the link and select to open the link in a new tab. Then you can select that tab to see the thread. Just close the tab (click on the X on the tab) when done and the search tab will still be as it was so you can select a different thread.

We're planning to upgrade to a new version of phpBB (the software that runs this forum) soon, and the new version doesn't appear to have this problem.

If all goes well, I'll be doing this upgrade on Sunday.

Josh - will it ever be possible to search the pre-September 2002 messages? I know that was a different system, but it would be great to get that information back.

I can look into it. I think it should be possible to hack something up.

Got it working.. So now the complete history of both forums can be searched through one place.
