The piston and bore were fine- Koni updates the piston to the new teflon coated one whenever they do a rebuild (even if the old one is fine).
As far as the other parts, I replaced the bushings, shaft seals and the oil. I made all the seals/bushings out of rubber I got from McMaster Carr - they were very basic and punched some and turned some on the lathe. It wasn't especially difficult.
