Another Report from your E-bay Reporter

Post by Doug »

Another 330 GT 2+2 appeared on e-bay today. Says SN 7575. Here it is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6212

Interior rough, at least the seats. I wonder what the floor looks like under the carpets.

Mike Mcclure, thanks for telling your story. Very inspiring. Maybe someday I will get a Ferrari. I'm running out of time though and still paying the third of three college tuitions.

Hmmmmm, not quite full disclosure on E-Bay! This car has been advertised in Ferrari Market Letter recently as having "minor headlight and fender damage". Maybe that's why there are no photos of the front of the car!

Asking price was $34,900.

You are correct - see my earlier post regarding the FML ad at http://www.tomyang.net/cars/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=245.

Another "full disclosure" issue - the car is a '65 and is listed on Ebay as a '67!

Actually 7575 would have been made in 1966!

In my misguided attempt for truth in 330 advertising I wrote the ebay guy about wether his car was the same car as previoudly advertised with frontal damage and wondered why this was not revealed. Here was his response:

Yale,

It is the same car.If you look at the drivers

side picture you can clearly see the car has

damage.Furthermore a potential buyer would

surely have dialoque with me and discover thru

that conversation that the car has damage.

Is there interest or just interest in

critiquing my listing?

Jeff

Just the kind of fellow you would want to buy a car from.

This guy is a real winner. I hope he has fun when someone shows up to inspect and/or pick up the car.

However, I see that Sanpilot75 (a repeated 330 bidder who seems to be a non-payer) is the high bidder, so maybe these guys will be good for each other.

Adding my 2 cents:

My car is 7919, according to Ferrari it was delivered to Chinetti in 12/65 therefore 7575 should be earlier.

It is a shame that the seller did not disclose the damage in the pictures. Whether it was done intentionally or not, it raises concerns
