Lucky Bastard...was loose steering on my 330

Post by Steve Meltzer »

When my father-in-law was alive, he used to say that the good Lord looks after his fools, and that he was always first in line. With his passing some years ago, I have (gratefully) assumed that position! Got a good look at the steering box today and happened to notice that as I twisted the steering column, the box itself moved radically on a very loose bolt that was supposed to anchor it to ?? the chassis. Easily rectified and then fortified with some "blue" Loctite. Road test in the AM.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their concerns and ideas. Gonna go celebrate with a good bottle of red wine and a steak! steve

Darn that was an easy fix! The gods smiled upon your soul today.
Nobody gets off that easy.

You're so right....when I was a resident in training, we were told "it's always better to be lucky than good"...don't I know it. s

Well Guys, that are always my words a Ferrari 250/330 drives lick a TRUCK no indepandant suspension etc etc very conservative car . I know you dont like my words but read on
Ferrari didnot use for Fun those nice casstle- with splints- nuts and lots of yellow paint.
the chassis cannot IRON all vibrations
but only the DRIVES among us knows these little problems
so a lot of problems occur by this very STIFF chassis.
But we STILL love those magic V12
What would life be worth without ADDICTEDNESS ?????(i dont mean cocain or morfine)
