Hello Jimmy
Link did nit work but found it eventually.Quite like the targa conversion & it seems to have been done nicely but I do not the interior especially the seats.

Sorry about the link not working, Ian. I've seen a roadster conversion before which I thought was quite nice. As for this targa example, I must say it is not love at first sight, but then it may not be so bad afterall. Suppose body flexing may be a problem w/ such modifications. Interiors need better finish. What surprised me was the asking price, which seems quite low ? regards Jimmy

Hi Jimmy
Missed a word out but I still do not like the seats.
Seem to be more like the 400 series seats & the wooden "ski-slope" looks to be a 365 GT4 2+2/400 series change.
I think the original aluminium finish is better.
Need to ask an engineer about the structural rigidity but the roof panel is just a piece of thin tin.
I am sure there will be body fleixmg but it has got a bloody strong chassis
Agreed that the price might make it interesting but not the best time to sell??

I agree. The convertible for sale a few months ago was much better looking and better executed than this targa.
They even padded the non-existent rear 'seats' to match those awful front seats. The already cramped cockpit will be tighter still.
It would cost a lot to put the interior back close to original. I wonder if a fire or something motivated the conversion.
Might explain the price
Don't think lack of a roof would affect rigidity much, as the tube chassis carries almost all the load.

Here's a link to the convertible for sale a few months ago. I think the C/4 looks great topless
Notice they also veneered the dash.
Seems like a dumb thing to do, as it's almost certain to get rained on, then peel, like this one has

Hi Andy
Very nice convertible & like you not sure about some of the detail,
They have reworked some of the switch gear, moved hazard & electric ariel switches & eliminated the ashtray & cigar lighter,so they have done plenty of work.
Also relocated filler cap & boot release to drivers door pillar. Dash venners look to be nicely done but I am not sure of reasons for such a costly mod on an open top car.
Not improved the interior in my view but I do like the relocated releases
