#3637

Post by william »

A buddy of mine just bought #3637 which is missing it's engine. At the current time it has a Ford 302 Crate motor. Very interesting car with hood scoop. The car came with gear box and alot of parts. Does anyone know the whereabouts of engine #3637?

He would obviously like to find the orginal engine but understands that the odds are slim. He's hoping to install a correct 250 series or 330 engine.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I saw that car at the RM auction of the Freshman collection in 2002 and it was missing it's original engine then. The body needed a lot of work. What condition is it in now?

Hi Tom,

The car is good shape and came with a lot of good pices such as the radiator blind knob and cable. It is painted red and looks straight. The brakes are correct with servo. Modified exhaust with Ansa tips and borrani's (all 5) have been redone. The car is missing some small parts like window cranks and shift knob but, actually the car pretty nice.

It just needs to be gone through to make things correct. My friend has the right attitude with the car and is hoping to replace the ford engine with a more period correct Ferrari engine or 330 engine. But, he still has a small hope that 3637 can be found and obtained.

I told him about this web site so I'm sure he will be joining soon.

William - was that car on eBay last month and sold for only $40K-$50K?

I saw a 250GTE with crate engine that looked like a nice driver for a really cheap price for someone who wants a resto-mod (so to speak).
