New Vintage Car Gathering Calendar

I have long wanted to find a calendar of Car Shows and Vintage Car Guy gatherings so that I can meet some of you in the months and miles between Tom Yang's BBQ and Pebble Beach. Having finally given up on the search, I decided to make one of my own. You can check it out by going to http://www.ferrari250gte.com and hitting the Calendar button, going to the new Ferrari Calendar link on the left side of Kerry's main page http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/330GT.htm or going to the new Ferrari Calendar link on the left side of Tom Yang's main page (http://www.tomyang.org/cars/ferrari.html).

Here is the deal. It is a Google Calendar listing vintage car events which is divided and color coded by US time zones; with one additional color/calendar for National events such as Pebble Beach and Cavallino. You can turn each zone on and off with the drop down arrow in the upper right corner. In order to keep the calendar from getting too cluttered, I moved weekly and monthly events to buttons at the bottom of the page.

In order to prevent it from becoming an advertising nightmare, Administrators will add the events which can be suggested by the viewers. At this time, I will handle the southern area of the Pacific Time Zone, Kerry will take the NW area, Tom Y is an Administrator-at-large and Yale has already eclipsed us all with his coverage of the northern part of the Eastern Time zone. The rest of the country is up for grabs, so let me know if you are interested in the job.

One of the many cool features of Google Calendars is that the Administrator has the ability to send invites for each event to an email list of interested car nuts. Those folks can then RSVP and everyone can see who is coming. I would love to activate this feature, as I think knowing that a couple of our gang are going to an event would encourage them to meet and might inspire more to come. It will also let me know who to hit up for spot in the passenger seat!
