330 GTC RW4039 and 205/vr/14 tire rub

Post by Greg Brendel »

I put RW4039 and 205/vr/14 tires on my 330GTC and one on the front tires is rubbing. According to Original Ferrari V-12 (Bluemel) this should be the correct combination. Any suggestions? Is this the correct combination?

Thanks,
Greg

is the rub on the body or the fresh air intake hose? Those tend to droop over time.....

The rub is on the wheel wells, especially when turning. Looks like they are just too large. Maybe the wrong aspect ratio? They are Michelin XWX. I guess I will put the Pirelli P400's back on it but when the car was at Cavallino I lost points not because they were modern tires but they were the wrong size.

I seem to recall that even with the incorrect 205/70 Dino tires which are much smaller, I would still wear a hole in my ducting within a few hundred miles or so. What's needed is some sort of flat plastic molding which would replace or shield the ducting. Perhaps just a cut piece of sheet metal with undercoating on it that lines the top of the wheel well.
