Headliners on 330 America

Post by Sloper »

As my 330 America (5035) has just arrived from the paintshop (finished in its original "bianco"), I just need to find the right material for the headliners; anybody there who could make a detailed picture of the original material (had the perforated ones installed, but don`t think that`s original, as this one was fitted with a sunroof in the 70th....); or does someone know a source, where to get the original headliners material?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi SLoper,

You're in luck. I managed to keep the original headliner to my 330 America (5053), and found a reasonable match for the trim pieces on the sides. I'm not sure if I got it from Lyle Tanner or Matt Jones of Re-orignals.

My original headliner is a creamy off white, almost beige color. The texture is NOT perforated, but has a smooth grain with just a hit of leather grain. I'll see if I can get you a decent picture when I get a chance.

Hi Tom,

Thank you very much for your quick response - as I worked hard on my car to bring it back to its original condition within the last year, it would be quite important to me to get a headliner as close to the original as possible... - I got quite a couple of samples at home now, however lacking the original - so it would be wonderful, if you could sent me a detailed picture of your original headliner... Thank you, Tom!

It took me a couple of days to find time, and to remember to take a picture. If you need higher resolution pictures, let me know:

Cut your samples in half and mail them to Tom to compare to his original liner. Re-Originals U20152/R matches the headliner in my series 2 330 GT.

Thank you, Tom, for those pictures! Even those samples, I got, do not really match, I will contact Re-Originals to see if they are able to offer the headliner-material (thank you, 330!) and could ship those over to Europe...
Will try to get some pics today and will post them thereafter!
Thanks!

Here are some samples of those headliners, Re-Originals are offering: For the America, either U20028/R and ..29/R are said to be correct - seems to be also similar to the one. which Tom sent me....
If you agree, they are close to the originals, I will start the order....

You can't use the IMG tag unless the picture is already hosted on the web. For pictures that are on your computer, you have to use the 'Upload attachment' tab at the bottom of the page as you are entering a post.

Open the photo in your normal photo viewer and their should be a resize command somewhere in one of your menus. In Microsoft Office Picture Manager, it is in the Picture menu. 500 Pixels wide seems to work well.

By the way, make sure you are resizing a copy of the photo so that you will still have the original in full size.
