The two times I've seen blow up oil filters were both in cold weather, so I'm trying to figure out if may also be attributable to thicker oil. One was a Fram, and the other one was a white canister (Wix or UFI).

there is no influence, when using an more thiner oil.
only you Marelli MT21 starter will love it .
20W-50 is here only available at special schops
and cost a fortune.
I use 10W-40 half syntatic Mobiloil.
can only be used on overhauld engine !
Other wise the old sludge can be solved and circutaling.

Actually I was born and raised in Southeast Missouri near the Mississippi river, farther South than you live now. I suppose you never noticed the resemblance to Samuel Clemens (The Missouri Mark). I used to live there in the mid 1980's, and it is a bit nicer now. Not too fancy, but a great location, and a historical place that has a good Palm Beach feel to it.
Much mnore interesting than the typical Hampton / Marriot route.

Ok guys, its time to get my act together for Cavallino (if not too late). Sounds like getting there Wednesday and leaving Sunday is the plan. As far as I know the schedule is as follows:

My Queen is going to Florida, either on her wheels or on a trailer as far as Maryland and on her wheels the rest of the way. An open trailer is not problem and a good friend is exploring the insurance aspects of lending me his Sport Ute to tow it. Tom Y, I'm planning to be at your place for Sunday night, Jan 17. Since you've done these things before, you can lead the rest of the trip. If I'm towing, I'll leave the equipment at Mark's place and drive the Queen from there.

Sounds like this is going to be a great trip for the travelling 12's....
I've got the garage cleaned up, lots of nice pictures on the wall, space for four visiting Ferraris. Looking forward to a great week of Ferrari related events. Tom, if you are going to have your car detailed you are welcome to have it done at our house, and borrow my truck if you need to go somewhere while it is being worked on. I think trailering down to Maryland is a great idea.
The track day is my favorite.
