@#$%@ Air Cleaner nut!

Post by Michael Bayer »

Guys: One of the three knurled nuts that hold the aircleaner "lid" down on my late 330GT Series II escaped on a drive the other day. Who carries them? M

I think I have a spare. I'll look tomorrow and email you.

One trick is to use a thin rubber washer under the nuts (and under the ones on the fuse panel cover too). This means you don't have to tighten them as much, yet they won't vibrate loose.

The rubber washer under the air cleaner nut is a good safe idea. Never use any metal washers or lock washers above any carb, and that goes for the nuts that hold the air cleaner to the top of the carb. This tradition is to prevent any loose parts from dropping into the engine when working on the air system. Jim

250GT driver do not have fear to loose these nuts ,
Original Ferrari glued big rubberwahers in the inside the fuse panel!
second the 3 airfitlers are slightly bigger than the out side rim of the airbox
so the lit is pressed on the rubberring of each filter NO vibration possible .
I have no knowledge of the later 330 cars.

It's the "little" things.....

Michael,

If Kerry cannot provide another source might be Parker Hall.
