Photos needed of series 2 headlight surround

Hello,

Grandma is closer than ever to being painted, however a question came up recently that I could not find details of in my archives. Specifically, can someone provide photos of a Series II, GTE, headlight surrounds with the trim ring removed. For the rookies, Series II cars have the foglights in the grill opening. I am keen to know two things, (1) - what exactly does the clip on the rear of the trim ring look like at the top of the trim ring that holds it to the body - and (2) - at the bottom of the headlight cavity there is a "hole" where the screw goes that holds the bottom of the trim ring to the body. Is this just a "hole", like one side of my GTE, or is there a proper clip arrangement and the "screw" is actually a M5/M6 with a Phillips pan head - like the other side of my GTE. However, both my clips are missing and a couple of "PK's" have been used in the past.
The “Clip” theory is from the panel guy just based on what one side of the car looks like, so it might not be correct.

If you need some more (on something particular) just ask. In my car there are nuts welded inside front fender. One is M5 and the other one is M6. That's how they made it; it still runs 230 km/h...

PS. can you check the engine, gearbox and rear end numbers for me. I've collected many and have none for your car.

PS. The attachment in top of the ring is just a small rectangular tab that's been welded on the ring before chroming and fits into the hole.

Hi, anyone have a photo of what the "rectangular tab" at the top of the Series II trim rings looks like?

of the thousands of pictures of 2169 I have and countless numbers of the front side of the headlamp rings I couldn't find one of the rear, Like Kare says the " Tab" is fairly simple/crude and it just slots into the hole on the inside of the opening in the fender at the top. I will post a few pictures with dimensions tomorrow after I get a chance to take some pictures at the shop.

Thanks Zac, a few angles and dimentions would be great, we can see on the back of the ring where they are supposed to be, but both sides are missing. Body man needs them back from the chrome guy to fit prior to final primer.
Corneilus, the photo is a bucket, I am looking for the detail on the chrome trim ring on the body. But thanks anyway.
